KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 9.7.18.
TODAY: The final round of significant rain is moving through the region as we speak. Heavy precipitation has fallen east of I-27 this morning, with more widespread but spotty showers likely through the early afternoon. Cloud cover will be broken to overcast today, with cool temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
THIS WEEKEND: Rain chances gradually taper off through the weekend. Saturday there is a 20% chance of showers, mostly for the morning and early afternoon. They will be spotty in nature, and most likely will not greatly impact the Texas Tech Football kick-off at 3 pm. Regardless, you may see a stray shower at the Jones stadium during tailgate. Saturday evening through the day Sunday will be partly cloudy with drying conditions. Saturdays highs will be in the low 80s, with mid 80s by Sunday.
NEXT WEEK: We are trending hot and mostly dry through next week. Temperatures will be seasonable in the upper 80s. Expect plenty of sunshine as well.
