We’re seeing isolated thunderstorms in the area. The best moisture is northeast & southwest of Lubbock. That is where the storms are developing. As the evening moves on, we’ll see these storms get closer to Lubbock & the central South Plains. Large hail & wind over 60 mph is possible with any storm. We’ll see heavy rainfall with any storm, thanks to the slow movement of them.

We got to 102° in Lubbock this afternoon. We’ll see a similar set-up tomorrow with more sunshine & hot conditions. We’ll see Lubbock getting to at least 100° for the day Thursday. More isolated thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon & evening hours, much like today. Any storm tomorrow will have some hail, but coverage will be less than what we’re seeing today.
