Skies are partly cloudy as we begin this new work and school week. The clouds that we are seeing are generally low and are moving in from west to east. This afternoon will be sunny and much warmer. The air today will be coming in from the south. When we see that, we expect much warmer air to come into west Texas. So, Lubbock is going to be toasty today, as we reach a high of 90°. Wind will be sustained at 10-20 mph, with gusts to 35 mph at times this afternoon.
Expect much of the same tomorrow, however, we’ll see increasing clouds from the morning on through the afternoon. The wind will still be up there, sustained at 20-25 mph, with gusts reaching 35-40 mph at times. The air is going to remain on the warm side, as Lubbock is going to reach a high temperature of 89°. That will be more than ten degrees above average for tomorrow.
