Skies are cloudy this morning as we get things started on a Tuesday. These clouds, along with the south wind, are helping to keep temperatures up into the low and mid 60s so far. Expect warm weather as you get going to work and school today. The afternoon will see mostly sunny skies. The wind will be sustained at 25-30 mph, with gusts reaching 40 mph at times. That will obviously be the downside to today. Lubbock will top out at 88°.
A cool front will pass into the area by tomorrow morning. We’ll start the day at 53°, which really isn’t too cool at all. The wind is going to remain elevated, sustained at 15-25 mph, with gusts to 35 mph in the afternoon. Behind the front, we’ll drop the high down to only 70° in Lubbock. The wind will make things feel more like the low 60s. There will be isolated showers in the northern counties through mid-morning. Coverage is barely 10%.
