Things are more calm as we get going on this Thursday. The wind is going to shift around to the west-southwest today, which will bring in warmer and dryer air. Sustained wind by this afternoon is going to be at 20-30 mph, with gusts easily reaching 45-50 mph at times. So, watch out for some blowing dust, especially on the Caprock this afternoon. Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny, with Lubbock seeing a high temperature of 86°.
We’ll start Friday with mild conditions in the morning. Lows will only drop down into the low 50s, thanks to the wind staying at 15-20 mph overnight. Wind will be less intense Friday afternoon, staying at 10-15 mph. Skies will be mostly sunny, again, with Lubbock making it to 83° for the high temperature. So, things are looking better tomorrow if you want to get outside and enjoy the warm weather.
