The wind is still causing problems, even now! The sustained wind is between 15-20 mph, with gusts still more than 30 mph. This will subside come this afternoon. The cold front will push to the southeast, so as it moves away the wind will diminish to 5-10 mph this afternoon. Expect sunny skies behind the front, with Lubbock seeing a high of 75° today.

The wind is going to shift back to the southwest tomorrow, at 10-15 mph. That means we’ll see warmer air returning to the South & Rolling Plains. Lubbock will see a high of 84° for Friday, with the Rolling Plains seeing highs near 90°. Another cold front will push in tomorrow evening, after 5:00. This will shift the wind back around to the east for Friday. It will also drop highs back down Friday afternoon. Lubbock will reach 73°, which is right where we should be.
