The clouds will not hang around too long, as they’ll scoot east and give way to plenty of sunshine this afternoon. With that sun and wind from the south, Lubbock will see a high of 80° today. The wind will be sustained at 15-20 mph, gusting to 35 mph.
Overnight, the wind will remain at 15-25 mph, so that will help to keep low temperatures up into the low 50s, even though we’ll see clear skies. The wind will remain at 15-25 mph through the day Saturday, with gusts to 35 mph. The ridge of high pressure will be strongest tomorrow, so that means we’ll see very warm air. The record high tomorrow is 91° and Lubbock will reach 90°. So be ready for a very warm afternoon.
