There was more measurable rainfall overnight as scattered thunderstorms moved through the South & Rolling Plains. Lubbock saw .24″ of rain on Thursday, with an additional .16″ overnight. So, we have received .40″ in the last 24 hours which we desperately need! Today will see the rain more spotty, so almost all will be dry. Expect partly sunny skies, with a high of 86°. Have an umbrella, or rain gear in the car for the high school football games tonight, just in case.

By tomorrow, things will dry out. The clouds, for the most part, will clear off. We’ll be left with fair-weather cumulus clouds in the afternoon. That means, we’ll get more sunshine for the afternoon on Saturday. The sun will bring in warmer air, so Lubbock will see a high of 89°. The average high is 90°, so we’ll be close to that. The Rolling Plains will see highs in the low 90s. Any storms that occur, will really only affect the far northwest counties. So, coverage is less than 10%.
