Temperatures this morning are only into the mid 30s northwest, to the low 40s in central counties. Expect the afternoon to see mostly sunny skies, with 10-15 mph wind. The average high for today is 54°, Lubbock will reach 55°, which is close enough to average! The wind will drop to 5-10 mph later in the afternoon, which will be nice.
Expect a warmer day with more sunshine for Wednesday. We’ll hit the temperature roller coaster back up tomorrow. Highs will climb back above average, with wind only at 5-10 mph from the east. Lubbock will reach 60°, with mid 60s off the Caprock & upper 50s to the northwest. A weak cold front will move through the area during the day tomorrow. In all likelihood, it will pass Lubbock by early afternoon. That will bring in colder air for Thursday morning.
