We are actually see some things different to start this morning off. For one, you may notice that there is some more moisture across the area. That moisture is helping to keep temperatures only in the 40s & 50s at this point. The wind is also from the south, mainly around 10-15 mph.

We will be see the air dry out by this afternoon. The wind will also be elevated, to 20-30 mph, southwest of Lubbock & also to the east. Lubbock will see wind around 10-15 mph for most of the day. The wind, along with the dry air we have in place will create dangerous fire conditions. Fires will spread very quickly, so be careful around open flames. Lubbock will get to 85° this afternoon, which would break the record of 83°, set in 1996.
