It’s Groundhog Day…again. We’re, once again, looking at clear skies, but the air is much colder this morning. There are readings in the teens to the north of Lubbock, but most other locations are in the 20s & low 30s. The wind chill is making things feel worse. There are single digit wind chill readings in the north & northwestern counties to start. We’ll have a cooler day today, under sunny skies. Lubbock will see a high of 50°.

We’ll start out Friday with lows in the low 30s, mid 20s to the northwest. There will be mostly sunny skies tomorrow, with wind at 5-10 mph for once. Lubbock reach 53° for the high, which is below our average of 56°. It would be a good day to have a light jacket in the morning & afternoon tomorrow, just to be on the safe side. We’ll be talking about much warmer air headed our way by the weekend.
