We are seeing cloudy skies all over the viewing area to start this Monday off. Our wind today is going to be from the southeast. So, that will bring in lots of moisture. That moisture, along with some upper-level support, is going to help to create showers & thunderstorms this evening. It looks like after 6:00 pm, showers & storms will begin west of Lubbock & move to the east.
The showers & storms will increase in coverage & we could even see some heavy rain for Lubbock & locations on the Caprock from 10:00 pm through the early morning hours tomorrow. As the colder air comes in after midnight, some of our southern panhandle counties will see a rain/snow mix, then some light snow early tomorrow. Roads will become slick with the rain & snow, so be careful as you head out the door Tuesday morning.
