Things are much warmer to start out this Wednesday. We’re actually looking at temperatures in the 50s in some spots. You should still have a jacket this morning, as the wind will make it feel cooler. But, but the afternoon, we’ll get another sunny day, with more warm air. An upper-level ridge of high pressure will keep things dry. Lubbock will get to a high of 86°, a degree shy from tying a record high. The wind will be back to 10-15 mph.

By Thursday, the wind will really begin to ramp up. A low pressure system will be creeping closer to the panhandle by tomorrow morning. This will kick up the west wind to 25-35 mph & gusting to 50 mph. We’ll see blowing dust, among other things, throughout the day tomorrow. Otherwise, skies will be sunny & we’ll stay warm, with Lubbock getting to a high of 81°.
