We’re seeing cooler air across the region this morning, as that cold front swept through west Texas on Wednesday afternoon. The thin clouds we’re seeing out there are just enough to keep temperatures from bottoming out. Readings are showing up in the low & mid 30s generally, so dress warm as you head out to start your day. This afternoon is looking sunny & windy, as we’ll see a high of 70°.
Big changes enter the forecast for your Friday. An upper-level ridge of high pressure is going to hang over head for two days. This is going to help promote some very, very warm conditions. In fact, we’ll be near record highs on Friday afternoon, under sunny skies. The wind is going to be at 10-15 mph & the air will remain extremely dry. The record high in Lubbock is 84° & we’ll see a high of 83° tomorrow afternoon.
