We’re seeing cloudy skies & much colder air this morning, thanks to that low pressure system to our west. There will be spotty areas of light freezing drizzle mainly northeast of Lubbock this morning. There will be a few slick spots for whoever sees this activity. Confidence is low, but I am just putting that out there in case slick spots show up this morning. The rest of the day will see light rain & drizzle, mainly east of Lubbock, with highs in the upper 30s.
Overnight, we’ll begin to see rain showers develop from east to west. There will also be very spotty areas of freezing drizzle, once again. Those locations will be the coldest ones, with temperatures from 28°-31°, which will be north of Lubbock. I am not expecting a widespread freezing drizzle event, but there will be a few slick spots early Saturday morning. That will quickly change to rain & will increase to 70% on Saturday afternoon. Watch for heavy rain. Highs will be in the low 40s.
