KLBK AM Weather January 18, 2017

It is always nice to see rain around west Texas & we saw more across the area on Tuesday. Most of the rain was on the lighter side, especially on the Caprock, but there were still many locations getting measurable amounts. Lubbock came in with .07″, while higher amounts were in the Rolling Plains. That system moves away quickly this morning. The afternoon will see partly sunny skies, with highs in the mid 50s.

The sun will shine tomorrow, with very few clouds in the area. We’ll get those down sloping winds from the Sacramento Mountains in New Mexico. The wind slopes off the mountains, sinks & warms, then spreads to the east into the South & Rolling Plains. So, with wind at 20-25 mph, expect highs to be in the upper 60s in the area tomorrow. Wind will gust near 35-40 mph.
