That west Texas wind will really be howling today, as our next system moves along just to the north of us. Skies will remain sunny, highs will be lower, but are going to remain above average. Lubbock will see a high of 64° today, with wind sustained at 25-35 mph & will gust to 50 mph at times. Watch out for downed tree limbs & blowing dust all afternoon long. There is a wind advisory for most of the area, which we are used to in west Texas.

The skies will remain sunny for the day on Wednesday. Behind this passing system, we’ll see lower high temperatures for the afternoon tomorrow. Lubbock will drop down below average, as we ill only see a high of 51°. Highs will stay in the upper 40s in our western counties. The wind will drop to 10-15 mph, but it will still make things feel cooler than they actually are. Have the jackets & sweatshirts ready to go for tomorrow.
