This week is looking to be a typical summer setup. A ridge of high pressure is going to be right back over west Texas. We will be looking at plenty of sunshine & plenty of summer time high heat. Today is going to be mostly sunny, with Lubbock seeing a high of 102°. Wind is going to be at 15-20 mph, so that will try to help, but it can only do so much.
Tomorrow is looking to see any clouds we see today clear out. Drier air will begin to work back into the South & Rolling Plains. So, with the sunny conditions out there, Lubbock is going to see a high of 103°. The wind will be at 10-15 mph. There will be isolated storms trying to form each day this week. However, coverage & confidence of that happening is quite low. So, it’s worth a mention, but not a percentage on the seven day. You should be more concerned with the heat this week.
