There are isolated thunderstorms moving into our western counties this morning. The lightning can be seen from Lubbock. The thunderstorms will move to the southeast. That movement will stay this afternoon & overnight, thanks to high pressure to the west of us. Thunderstorms will increase in coverage, up to 20% after 8:00 pm. Lubbock will see a high of 96° this afternoon.
Any thunderstorms that we see today will be out of the area by 3:00 am Saturday. The cloud will begin to push off Saturday, so we’ll stay mostly sunny in the afternoon. That high pressure will keep things dry, starting tomorrow midday, through the next work week. Lubbock will get to 98° for the high tomorrow. There will be isolated locations reaching 100° Saturday, but not nearly as many as we saw during this week.
