Hopefully everyone got to enjoy the weekend! High pressure is going to be the story for this week. That high is going to help the sun shine & the air warm up. We won’t be as hot as we saw a week ago, but highs will remain above average. There will be tons of sunshine today & lack of any clouds. Lubbock is going to see a high of 96°, with wind at 10-15 mph.

Much of the same is expected for the day tomorrow. That high is going to keep the cloud cover scarce this week. High pressure has sinking air. Sinking air prevents clouds from forming, so the sun is going to dominate. We will be seeing a high of 97° Tuesday, with the Rolling Plains getting closer & closer to 100°. Records will stay intact this week, but the hottest spots will be east of Lubbock.
