As expected, there were some thunderstorms Monday evening across the southern panhandle counties & western counties. These storms dumped a ton of rain on Dimmitt, as they received nearly 4.50″ of rain just from the storms yesterday! Unfortunately, flooding occurred. That was the downside from all the rain that parts of the area saw.
That will be the same set-up for today. We will see some isolated thunderstorms across parts of the viewing area. That front is still hanging around, so that will help to bring in the storms. We may see some storms from, say, Lubbock north & west. The Rolling Plains won’t really see too much going on today. It will be warmest there. We will see more clouds than sun, as Lubbock gets to a normal high of 93° this afternoon.
