There are clouds passing through the area to start off the day. They’re leftover from the thunderstorms we saw on the Caprock last night. There was heavy rain, plenty of lightning & even some small hail. The clouds will stick around today. Thunderstorms will be isolated this afternoon & evening, generally west of Lubbock. So, it’s looking like the same areas as last night. The high in Lubbock will be 88° today.
There will be isolated thunderstorms overnight, into Saturday morning. We’ll get a break from the storms until Saturday afternoon & evening. Coverage picks up tomorrow to 30%. Saturday will be the best day for Lubbock to see a storm during the weekend. There will be plenty of lightning & heavy rain. So, if you’re going to the Tech baseball game, take the rain gear & watch out for lightning, especially towards the end of the game. The high tomorrow will be 87°.
