There are overcast conditions for most of the area to start this Friday off. Dense fog will be an issue from Lubbock, the I-27/U.S. 87 corridor and east. More moisture is going to be available in those locations, so fog will be a problem for the morning commute. We will clear out this afternoon & see mostly sunny skies. Highs will climb to the low 80s in Lubbock.
High pressure will begin to take control of the weekend weather, as well as the weather for next week. That means that we will be able to finally dry out from all of the flooding we experienced in the last few days. There will be mostly sunny skies for the day Saturday. Wind will stay at 10-15 mph, but that isn’t too bad at all. Highs will climb up to the mid 80s in Lubbock & low 90s in the Rolling Plains.
