We are watching a cold front race through the area as we speak. This is going to crank up the wind to 20-30 mph through the evening. We will see that wind shift to the northwest today. So, cooler air will come in behind that front & highs will fall from the upper 70s Monday, to the low 60s today. Our normal high in Lubbock is 63° & that’s where we’ll be this afternoon.
The cooler air will not hang on for too long, however. Tomorrow, the wind is going to shift to the south-southwest. When this occurs, it brings warmer air to the South & Rolling Plains. So, highs tomorrow will jump up into the low 80s! There will even be some spots in the Rolling Plains reaching the mid 80s for high temperatures!
