Skies are clear this morning as a cold front works its way through the area from northwest to southeast. We’re already seeing temperatures down into the upper 30s & low 40s west of Lubbock. The cold front will clear the area by mid-morning. Behind it, clouds will increase through the day & highs will be much lower than Thursday. The wind will pick up to 10-20 mph as Lubbock will only see a high of 60°.

Skies stay cloudy for your Saturday. The wind is still the story, as we’ll get sustained wind at 20-35 mph, gusting to 45 mph at times. There will be isolated showers, or thunderstorms in the Rolling Plains. Emphasis on isolated. Coverage is less than 10%. Otherwise, we’ll begin to see warmer air before our next cold front arrives. Lubbock will reach a high of 71°.
