We set another record high on Monday, as Lubbock got to 93°. The previous record high was 90°, set back in 1916, so that tells you how warm it was! More heat expected this afternoon. There will be mostly sunny skies, with light wind. That will be a problem, because it will feel warmer than it actually is. Lubbock will reach a high of 92°. The record high is 93°.
A weak cold front will move into the area by tomorrow morning. Lows will fall into the low 50s tomorrow, which is well above average. The afternoon will continue to see mostly sunny skies, with wind increasing to 10-15 mph, 25 mph at the highest. We will top out at 80°, which is still well above the average high of 68°. So, that weak front won’t do much in terms of cooling us down.
