We had another very warm afternoon on Tuesday. However, we did not tie, or break a record high. So, we only saw new records on Sunday & Monday. A cold front moved through yesterday afternoon, sparking a lone severe storm in Garza County. That cold front will keep it mostly sunny & cooler this afternoon. Expect a high of 79°.
Tomorrow is going to be more interesting. There will be cloudy skies throughout the day, which will limit instability. The wind will increase in the afternoon to 25-30 mph, gusting to 40 mph. The clouds will try to clear by evening, as a dry line moves east. The dry line will impact Lubbock between 10:00 pm & midnight Friday morning. This will be the window for thunderstorms to move in, as well. Any thunderstorm will have the potential to produce large hail & obviously strong wind. They will move quickly to the east. The high will be 80°.
