An upper-level ridge of high pressure will keep things sunny & warm this afternoon. The wind is actually going to drop to 5-10 mph by this afternoon, which will be nice to see. Lubbock will stay above average for the high, as we will reach 78°. I wouldn’t be surprised to see highs in the low 80s in the Rolling Plains.

Things have changed in regards to the weather for tomorrow. The severe threat has really shifted off to the east. We’ll get a round of showers & storms at 30% in the morning, lasting until 1:00 pm. Otherwise, it’ll be partly sunny tomorrow with a high of 77°. There will be another round of storms tomorrow evening. These will follow the dry line east of Lubbock. The best spot for large hail & damaging wind will be in Cottle & King Counties, Abilene & east to DFW.
