KLBK AM Weather March 29, 2017

We had quite the active afternoon and evening yesterday. We ended up with 11 tornado warnings in the area and a lot of rain, as well. The good part from these storms was the rain, but unfortunately, we did see large hail, wind and those tornadoes. We’re still seeing rain showers and a few thunderstorms moving into Lubbock County and areas to the northwest this morning.

Any shower, or thunderstorm activity will be moving out of the area by 1:00 pm today. The low pressure system responsible for the storms will be headed off to the east this afternoon. Behind the low, we’ll see cloudy skies this afternoon, with wind at 20-25 mph. Highs will be much lower, thanks to that Pacific cold front that moved in last night. Lubbock will only reach a high of 56° today. It will feel colder with the wind, so have jackets with you today and rain gear.
