The clouds are sticking around this morning, thanks to abundant moisture returning overnight. There is a dry line sitting along the state line this morning. That will push east during the morning hours & reside in the eastern Rolling Plains this afternoon. We will see drier air filtering in, but the wind will pick up to 20-30 mph, gusting to 45 mph.

The fire danger will be high this afternoon. We’ll see sunny skies returning by mid-morning, like yesterday. Today‘s highs will be lower, but Lubbock will still see temperatures above normal, with a high of 77°. Overnight will remain clear & windy. The wind will be at 15-20 mph, so we will not get a break from that. Lows will drop down to the low 40s.
