Skies have cleared, but the wind is still at it this morning. The direction shifted yesterday afternoon to the south & southwest, so we will not have any smoke issues today. The wind will stay at 10-15 mph today, with the highest gusts, at times, reaching 25 mph. Otherwise, under sunny skies, Lubbock will see a high of 77°. I can’t rule out some 80° readings in the Rolling Plains.
Overnight, clouds will be on the increase, thanks to more moisture returning to the mid-levels of the atmosphere. So, that will keep low temperatures well above average by morning. We’re talking about low 50s to start the day tomorrow. A light jacket is really all you will need. The afternoon will see highs in the low 80s area-wide, with wind at 10-15 mph.
