Low clouds have overtaken the area this morning & will stick around through early afternoon. Once the clouds clear, we’ll see mostly sunny skies, with light wind. Expect a very warm day for your Thursday, as highs will make it into the low 80s once more. Lubbock will see a high temperature of 83°. It will feel warmer since the wind will drop by this afternoon.
A weak cold front will move into the area by tomorrow morning. This will help to bring in more cloud cover throughout the day. The wind will begin to increase, sustained at 10-15 mph, with higher-end gusts reaching 25 mph. With the cloud cover & cooler air coming in from the north & northeast in the morning, highs will be much lower. Expect Lubbock to reach 66° for Friday, which is just a degree above the average high.
