I hope everyone had a great weekend. There were severe thunderstorms in the area Sunday evening. Lubbock missed out, only by 30 miles. The best ingredients were in the Rolling Plains, again and that is looking to be the case this afternoon. A dry line is going to set up just east of Lubbock during peak heating today. East of that will be the focal point for severe thunderstorms.

Much like Sunday, we’ll see very large hail with any thunderstorm. We’re talking about golf ball to egg size hail and wind over 70 mph. Since Lubbock will likely be west of the dry line, we are looking to stay dry here. If the dry line stalls west of Lubbock, expect thunderstorms to form in the county & move off to the east. Highs will be in the low 90s today.
