We’re watching a cold front work its way through the area as we speak. It’s already bringing in colder air to our northern counties. The wind is also on the rise. It is going to increase to 15-25 mph today, gusting to 35 mph at times. The front will be dry, as we will not see any rain from this one. Temperatures will drop down to 70° for the high in Lubbock today. That is ten degrees below average.
Expect a chilly start to the day Thursday. We’re going to see low temperatures down into the low 40s for most. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the northwestern counties fall into the upper 30s tomorrow morning. The afternoon is going to see wind at 10-15 mph, with sunny skies. Lubbock will get to a high temperature of 75°. That is still going to remain below average for May 4.
