A cold front has surged through the area this morning & it is packing a punch! The wind is up to 20 mph in most locations. We’ll be seeing the north wind continue this afternoon has much cooler air stays overhead. There will be sunny skies today, but don’t be fooled. You need to dress warm, as we’ll only see a high of 56°. The wind will be at 10-20 mph, so it will be feeling like we’re in the upper 40s.
Overnight, the wind is going to drop to the light category. The skies will remain clear, as well. These two things are a perfect recipe for a very cold night/early morning. With that said, Lubbock will drop down to 24° by tomorrow morning. We’ll get our first freeze, so be sure to bring in the plants & pets tonight. Our northwestern counties till drop down to 18°-22°. So, bundle up in the morning as it will be very cold.
