I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving! We saw a cold front move through the area yesterday evening. It was weak & did not pack a punch. However, with that said, we are seeing the effects from that front this morning. The clouds have cleared off as the front has pushed east. With the clear skies, things are quite cold out there. Lubbock is in at 38° right now, with temperatures in the mid 20s to the northwest.
Today will see a mostly sunny day & we will be warming up from the cold air this morning. I use warming up lightly, because today is going to be much colder than what we saw for the high on Thanksgiving Day. Expect Lubbock to see a high of only 59° this afternoon. The wind will remain light, which is good, because it will actually feel closer to the actual temperature. If the wind was blowing, we would have a very chilly one out there.
