We have finally seen rain falling in the area! There are still pockets of moderate-to-heavy rain in some spots. So, be careful as you head out to start your day. There will be many slick spots on roadways & ponding, as well. Drive safe out there. The showers will move out of the area by 10:00 am. There will be spotty showers this afternoon, mainly west of Lubbock. Otherwise, we’ll see cloudy skies, with a high of only 63°.
By tomorrow, the clouds will stick around & we’ll get another shot to see some rain in the area. A disturbance will bring in just enough lift to see 30% of us getting some more rain. Now, it will mostly stay west of Lubbock & coverage will increase once you cross the state line & move farther west into New Mexico. There is a minimal shot of seeing rain east of U.S. 87/I-27. We’ll still see a cool day, with a high of 62°.
