There will be more sunshine this afternoon area-wide. Yesterday, we topped the 90° in Lubbock & today will be much warmer than that. With that sunshine & warm air in place, expect Lubbock to see a high of 94°. The record for today is 93°, so we are looking to break that this afternoon. The only thing that would prevent that is the wind. So, we will see how things go later today.
A weak cold front will move through the area by tomorrow. This will help to moderate the high temperatures. There is still going to be abundant sunshine in the area, but highs will be much lower by more than ten degrees. Wind will be shifting to the east at 10-15 mph behind that front. So, Lubbock will see its high drop down to 81° tomorrow, which is going to feel much more comfortable than this afternoon!
