Lubbock set a new record high on Monday as we got to 94° at 3:03 pm. The previous record was 93°, set in 1988. Today will be much cooler, thanks to a cold front that has now moved just south of Lubbock. It will continue south & will clear the area by sunrise. Behind it, wind will be from the east at 10-15 mph this afternoon. Lubbock will reach a high of 80°, which is still above the average of 75°.

Wednesday will be able to rebound with warm air, in between cold fronts. The sun is going to stay with us tomorrow & the wind will actually be light, only 5-10 mph. So, with that said, highs will be in the mid 80s tomorrow afternoon in Lubbock, with upper 80s east & upper 70s/low 80s west. The stronger cold front will make its way through the region by Thursday morning, bringing in much colder air.
