Things are calm & quiet to start off the day. We’re watching low clouds coming in from the west, which will drop visibility down in some spots, like yesterday morning. The reason for the low clouds & fog is that our dew point & temperatures are close together, so there is plenty of moisture in the air. Just not the right set-up for rain. We’ll see a mostly sunny afternoon, with a high of 84°.

Tomorrow will see an upper-level ridge of high pressure over west Texas. This will give us plenty of sunshine & warm air. The wind will be from the southwest at 10-15 mph during the day. With the sun & southwest wind, expect Lubbock to see a high of 86°, with low 90s for highs in the Rolling Plains. Certainly not typical late-October weather for sure.
