There was a weak cold front that has moved through the area. That is pulling in much drier air this morning. That drier air has allowed for temperatures to drop very low. In fact, our northwestern counties are showing temperatures in the low 40s! Lubbock is in at 50° right now. This afternoon will be sunny & very warm, with a high of 89° in Lubbock, low 90s in the Rolling Plains. Wind at 10-15 mph.
After another clear & calm night, Thursday is will see puffy cumulus clouds returning to the area during the day. We will experience mostly sunny skies, ahead of a stronger cold front that will move in Thursday night & early Friday morning. Highs on Thursday will stay in the mid 80s, near 90° off the Caprock. The front will move in late, which will give 10% of the area isolated storms.
