It’s quiet for now in the South & Rolling Plains, but changes are already headed this direction. A cold front is working its way through the panhandle & into our northern counties this morning. It will bring in more clouds & increase the showers & storms by this afternoon. The best window for storms looks to be from 6:00 pm-midnight, at least for today. We’ll see those storms at 40% in the area. From midnight-6:00 am, thunderstorms will be coming in at 50%. Lubbock will reach a high of 84° this afternoon.

Tomorrow is going to stay cloudy, with more showers & thunderstorms in the area at 40%. Behind the cold front, highs will only be down into the low 80s. In fact, Lubbock will only reach a high of 80° tomorrow. There is going to be plenty of moisture in the air, so expect heavy rain & minor flooding with any thunderstorms you experience on Wednesday. Keep that in mind especially when traveling across the region.
