There were strong storms that pushed through the area last night. We even saw large hail & a wall cloud west of Lubbock. Today will see increase clouds by late morning/early afternoon. A cold front is coming down from southern Colorado this evening. That will lead to showers & storms being scattered in the area at 60%. The heaviest rain & better look at rain after 6:00 pm will be in the southern counties. Highs today will generally reach the low 80s.

Tomorrow will see partly sunny skies. The cold front will be south of the area, but there will be mid-level activity that will help to enhance lift, along with southeast surface wind bringing moisture to the air. Those ingredients will help to bring in scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon, evening & overnight. Coverage will be at 40% tomorrow, so have your rain gear at the Texas Tech game tomorrow evening. Highs will stay in the mid 80s.
