There are cloudy skies lingering in place behind a strong cold front that moved through the area over the weekend. Those clouds will help to keep things cool this afternoon. Highs in the entire area will stay below average. The wind will be at 10-15 mph, just making things feel cooler than they actually are. Lubbock is looking at a high this afternoon of only 72°. We are in Autumn & the weather today will certainly remind us of that.
The clouds will begin to move out of west Texas by tomorrow, which will allow for mostly sunny skies to take over. The sunshine & less wind that we will see for the day on Tuesday will let warmer air return. So, highs will climb up into the mid 70s. That is still below our average of 81°, but we will be getting close. The light wind will keep things feeling more like the actual temperature out there.
