I hope everyone had a great Labor Day! Today is going to be cloudy & muggy out there. Moisture is beginning to return to the area, thanks to a tropical system off the west coast of Mexico. There will be isolated storms this afternoon, at 20%, generally north & northwest of Lubbock. The moisture flow from Hurricane Newton is wrapping around Lubbock & mainly affecting eastern New Mexico & the Texas panhandle. Lubbock will reach a high of 84° today.

There will be cloudy skies tomorrow. The showers & storms will stay more isolated than originally expected. The coverage will be at 20% for tomorrow, mainly north of Lubbock. The best tropical moisture from Newton will be in the Texas panhandle & eastern New Mexico yet again. This is wrapping right around Lubbock, as the storm is moving more easterly. There will be heavy rain with any storm in the area. Highs will be in the mid 80s.
