We are seeing the rain showers dissipating this morning, as they’re leftover from a complex that formed in the central South Plains last night. Today will see partly sunny skies, so the sunshine will peek out more today than on Wednesday. There will still be muggy conditions, so it’ll feel warmer than it actually it. Lubbock will see a high of 90°, feeling more like 96°. Storms will stay isolated today, mainly in the Rolling Plains & at 10%.

Tomorrow will see even more sunshine in the area & much warmer air. Highs will stay above average for late summer. Lubbock will see a high of 93°, with highs at 97° in the Rolling Plains. I can’t rule out isolated storms tomorrow afternoon, as there will still be leftover moisture in the area. Coverage will be 10%. So, have the rain gear at least in your car tomorrow night for the high school football games.
