Things are starting out clear & calm today. Expect a mostly sunny afternoon, with very warm air in place. Lubbock got to 92° on Thursday & we will eclipse that for today. We’ll see a high of 93°, with wind at 10-15 mph. I can’t rule out isolated storms this afternoon, at 10%, but most of us will be dry. So, be ready for a warm night of high school football!

A strong cold front will move into the area by midnight tonight. That is going to bring major changes to the area. There will be 50% coverage in storms from midnight-6:00 am, especially in the Rolling Plains. Heavy rain will be possible as the front quickly moves in. Those storms will be out of the southern counties by 7:00 am. we’ll be mostly sunny & windy tomorrow, with a high of only 75°. Wind will gust to 35 mph.
