KLBK Evening Weather December 22, 2016

The cold front that moved in last night dropped temperatures down into the 20s & 30s this morning. The cloud cover stuck around & we had a chilly afternoon. Temperatures now are in the 40s for most spots & upper 30s to the north. There was some light mixed precipitation north of Lubbock this morning, but most did not reach the ground. Overnight, the skies will stay cloudy as Lubbock gets down to 33°.

Tomorrow will see some leftover showers at 20%, generally north of Lubbock. After a cloudy start to the day, we’ll see mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. The wind will increase to 10-15 mph, as highs will be in the low 60s yet again. The warm air will carry over into Christmas weekend, so this year will be quite different than we were a year ago. The big issue this Christmas will be the wind.
