Friday looks to be the best day this week to see showers & thunderstorms widespread in the area. We’ll see another cold front come through during the afternoon. That will help to increase the coverage of thunderstorms to 40%. So, have your rain gear with you as you head out & about Friday, especially for the high school football games that night. Highs will be in the mid 80s.
Texas Tech returns home to play Louisiana Tech on Saturday evening. We’ll see cloudy skies during the day, with isolated storms in the South Plains at 10%. So, just be careful while tailgating on Saturday afternoon & watch out for lightning. All indications are for storms to be out of the area prior to 6:00 pm, but we will certainly keep an eye on that. Otherwise, there will be cloudy skies, with a high of 80°.
