Showers and thunderstorms will continue through the morning hours on Thursday, including your morning rush. So, use caution out on the roadways, as some spots will see more than one inch of rainfall. There will be flooded roads and ponding on highways. The showers and storms will begin to clear to the east after 1:00 pm, so the Rolling Plains will see storms through 7:00 pm. After that, storms become more isolated in coverage. Through 7:00 pm, we’ll see 50% getting rain Thursday. The high in Lubbock will only reach 67°.

Good Friday will see the rain scoot off to the east, but the clouds will remain. Those clouds will mix in with the sunshine Friday afternoon. The wind will remain at 10-15 mph all day long. With the sunshine peeking through those clouds, we’ll see warmer air, resulting in higher temperatures than the previous two days. Lubbock is looking to see a high of 77°, which is back above average.
